Capital One Canada

Project Description

During my time at TAXI, we took on a number of projects for Capital One to increase their Facebook following & drive engagement (this was 2012!) - I contributed to wireframes, contest mechanics and strategy for numerous contests and microsites. Below are a snapshot of some of my favourite projects.

Spin Jam: In a partnership with the NCAA, Capital One tasked us to create a game to engage its audience and promote the championship game. The team at TAXI created "Spin Jam", a physics based game where users had to balance a basketball on a finger using their mouse or keyboard controls. Through rounds of technical discovery, we created a series of game mechanics where users would gain ballots the longer they played as well as unlocking bonus moves to extra points.

Travel Buddy: One of the most complex projects we launched was the 2012 ASPIRE MasterCard promotion called "Travel Buddy". We created a travel inspired weekly Facebook contest that scraped users profiles as well as their friends profiles to find the best compatibility, generate a postcard with both users profile pictures and share it to their personal wall.

EH to ZED: For the 2013 ASPIRE MasterCard promotion, we created a cross Canada weekly Facebook contest, showcasing unique and memorable places consumers could tag that they've visited or add to a wish list to visit. They would then share these locations on their own wall (or a friends wall) to drive back to the contest.
